Big Wins
There were no big wins in top 3A games this week, only escapes and upsets much to the annoyance of favorites.
Escapes
#3 Sioux City Heelan, a pregame 34-point favorite, won 17-14 over #15 Carroll.
#14 Williamsburg escaped Keokuk with a 33-27 road win. Williamsburg had been a 26-point favorite.
Upsets
And what a night of upsets it was …
#17 South Tama won a 37-14 game over #11 Boone. South Tama entered as a 13-point underdog.
#8 Harlan, a pregame 18-point underdog, won by 25 over #4 CB Lewis Central.
#29 Newton traveled to #5 ADM as a 28-point underdog. Newton left with a 3-4 record and a 17-13 win.
#16 Pella, a 18-point underdog, won 27-0 over #9 Norwalk.
