The biggest matchup for 4A in Ankeny where the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars will take on the Southeast Polk Rams. We featured Southeast Polk last week when they played Fort Dodge and after a comeback, Fort Dodge won the game in the 4th quarter. This puts the Rams at #11 with a 1-4 record going against the #1 ranked 5-0 Jaguars. If anything these next 2 weeks will be a test for Ankeny Centennial to hold their undefeated record. Next week they play Fort Dodge as well.

The Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks will travel to play the West Delaware Hawks in a big conference matchup. Waverly-Shell Rock is coming off a loss against Decorah giving them a 4-1 record. The Go-Hawks loss was higher than expected last week and need this win to put them back in the top 10. As for West Delaware, they need this win to put them back in the playoff picture and solidify them as a contender.

In 2A, the undefeated Greene County Rams will travel to take on the Carroll Kuemper Knights. What makes this matchup so interesting is last year Greene County was 3A and lost to Carrol Kuemper 14-21. The Rams had a 1-8 season last year and have since dropped a class. They hope this win will solidify themselves as a title contender. On the other hand, Carroll Kuemper needs this win or a win against Ida Grove O-A-BC-IG to clinch the 2nd seed in their conference.

The Treynor Cardinals will make there way north to play the Underwood Eagles in a close matchup. These 2 teams are both fighting for the #1 seed in the 1A-9 conference. Both are on a 3 game winning streak, however, Underwood looks a little stronger overall. Looking at the overall 1A picture, a win for the Treynor Cardinals could push them above the top 20. This game should be even across the board and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
